Last Tuesday Kuir Garang led us in a dialogue about racism and we heard from Paul and from Laurie some fascinating and instructive stories about non-human animals, notably wolves and horses. Truly awesome. Then there was a poem "Window fan on a hot night." If you are interested next Tuesday we might imagine some brilliant projects for the Social Transformation Tournament, try out an extension of the collaborative fiction-writing exercise that Zoe had launched previously, take a look at the possibilities of calligraphy as an art form, or discuss a good question about (un)civil wars like those in Syria and South Sudan. or example, a question like this: How might the use of that Biblical story about the two women both of whom claimed to be the mother of an infant (in which a wise king asked to mediate says okay, we'll split the infant in half and give you each a piece) open up some innovative ways to think about root causes and prevention and termination of such wars?
We'll be there at Kawa Espresso Bar, Tuesday May 1, from 6 to 9 PM. It's located at 1333 Eighth Street SW, at the corner of 8th Street and 14th Avenue SW.
