Tuesdays life stories

Last Tuesday we heard stories of life journeys. One of the Lost Boys, Lam, gave us material good enough for a major motion picture, an inspiring story of human resilience leading to triumph. His story reminded us that we too have this human capacity for resilience and triumph.

Bukola had written and produced plays in Nigeria and in Canada.

Zoe read us her magical fiction that had started as one of our collaborative writing antics.

We heard the poem “Lady Lazarus” by Sylvia Plath, who committed suicide, and talked about suicide and agreed it was a bad idea. But the poetry was good.

We generated a menu of topics for Wednesdays at Vendome, to begin in July. Ingrid emphasized the importance of a cogent and potentially useful conclusion to each discussion. We’ll put that advice into practice.

Tuesdays at Kawa are like snowflakes. No two are exactly alike.

The first was February 27. The next is Tuesday June 26.
