Tuesday November 13 we’ll be at Second Cup in Kensington / Sunnyside, and Wednesday November 14 at Vendome. The dialogues start at 6 PM.
Last Tuesday, Bukola told us about her most recent initiative, for which she is registered with the Government of Canada, to connect employers in Canada with individuals elsewhere who are seeking employment and a visa – a type of connection which should benefit many people. Zoe invented creative writing exercises (one for poetry, one for prose fiction) which we did on the spot; and I read my new short story “Standing Ovation.”
Wednesday there was a rich dialogue about the human tendency to fall into anger and violent forms of communication. The book shared was Marshall Rosenberg’s Nonviolent Communication.
I expect to be at the dialogues this coming week. The following week I’ll miss them because I’ll be in North Carolina attending a memorial service for my mother and generally getting back it touch with my father and my two brothers
