Zoku and Fred Spina

Tuesday December 18 we’ll be at Second Cup in Kensington / Sunnyside, and Wednesday December 19 at Vendome. The dialogues start at 6 PM.

At the most recent dialogues Zoe launched a new form of poetry, the Zoku, built upon the idea of haiku but modifying and expanding it. We tried our hands at writing zoku, and imagined a Journal of Zoku, to which we could submit our contributions to be considered for publication. We heard a newly-written piece of flash fiction, “Chess at the Vendome,” learned a bit about Fred Spina’s art, explored the idea of a Universal Basic Income (UBI) a bit further, heard about a new co-housing community that Jorg would like to establish near Turner Valley, and also heard a bit about the World Financial Group (potentially a very important resource for the Calgary Social Capital Society).

So it was historic and delightful. If you missed it, we missed you.

Arthur
