With Zoe and Nyabuoy facilitating, our dialogue topic for tomorrow Wednesday February 26 will be Boundaries. Zoe sends this orientation to help us prepare our own contributions to the group genius: Boundaries are a crucial part of life; they are the limits we set for ourselves in our relationships. Boundaries are a healthy part of having relationships, but it can often make you feel uncomfortable or guilty when you’re first learning how to practice them. This week’s focus will be on developing and maintaining healthy boundaries in all aspects of our lives.

We’ll have a handout at the event with excellent material to get us started. There is also material online that you could search to prepare for the dialogue, including good quotes and videos about setting boundaries. We’ll start at 6 PM tomorrow, at the Humainologie Gallery & Store, 1514 Seventh Street SW. We’ll have a potluck, so you are encouraged to bring something to contribute to the potluck, either a dessert or a health snack. We typically have food left over so don’t overdo it.

The dialogues are endlessly rewarding of course, yet they have that larger purpose, of allowing each of us to have a voice in answering such questions as: Where do we want to go from here? What sort of world do we want for our children and theirs? When we cross our personal finish line, what have we contributed to the world that will go on after we are gone?

In my mind at least, that’s what these dialogues are all about.

Arthur
