Imagine you’ve had a quarrel with the love of your life and she or he isn’t speaking to you. You write a letter to her or him and the next day the letter comes back to you “Return to Sender.” Ouch! You suffer. But what do you do next? You write a short story about it. Life is always giving you lemons so you have to become very good at making lemonade. If you can’t write a short story you write a song about it and perform the song in front of an audience

and then something else happens. Life goes on. You have to develop emotional agility. You have to become very good at making lemonade.
Since we’re working on a writing project, it might be helpful to share favorite lines from old movies. After all, we need great lines in the short stories we’re writing. At the Zoom dialogue, tell us one of your favorite lines from a movie. Here are a couple of websites with quite a few to choose from.

I have several favorites but for this coming Wednesday I’ll share “Those are your prime suffering years” from the movie “Little Miss Sunshine.”
