One of the important things our dialogue network can do is provide mutual support for each other in these trying times, as if we were a team of health care professionals, ever mindful of the well-being of others on the team.

Yesterday I learned of a recently published book about healthy brain aging. I have been following the program described in the book for more than a year now, having learned about it from two other books published in 2018, each written by neurologists specializing in Alzheimer’s and related disorders (Dale Bredesen at UCLA and Dean and Ayesha Sherzai at Loma Linda). The program is basically one that has readily apparent advantages, whatever its effectiveness may be for preventing Alzheimer’s disease. It emphasizes five things: healthy diet; exercise; using the mind creatively and for new learning; maintaining healthy social relationships; and getting enough sleep (and reducing negative stress).

In this very recent book (Keep Sharp), Sanjay Gupta presents these strategies in his own way. I have not read the book, or even bought it, but I saw an interview with the author last night and thought you might be interested. Here is the 30-minute interview.
