Hello Dialogue Artists,
Our network is growing and includes some remarkable visionaries. Amy Tesfai is at work on a Greening Africa program (of which more at another time) and is also connected with a project whereby women in Ethiopia make face masks to lower the Covid-19 risk https://paulhardydesign.com/ with 100% of the proceeds going to the women who make the masks. She had asked me to share this link. She also mentioned that our dialogues had been part of what inspired her to the work she is doing.
Helen Ostrowski, with her late husband Jorg, worked on a Silk Road to Peace project, whereby one of the caravanserai https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caravanserai along the Marco Polo Trail in northern Iran would become a peace education centre. Now she is planning a related project for the Trans-Canada hiking trail and will tell us about her project at our dialogue on Wednesday September 23.
Exercise is essential to a good life at every age. Brian Seaman has led us in exercise in the park sessions that combine exercise with social interactions in the outdoor natural setting of Riley Park. I can’t match that by sending you a link for good exercises, but the link will at least keep us mindful of the importance of exercise. I would also suggest that at our dialogue check-ins or breakout sessions we share information on what we have been doing for exercise in the week since our previous dialogue. Here’s a link to some exercises that can help strengthen the lower back https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=750nkDg9XPI
My next book synopsis will be of Jonathan Haidt’s book The Happiness Hypothesis, and I’ll send it to you either tomorrow (Saturday) or early next week, well before our next dialogue on Wednesday September 16.
