Let’s work on developing the art of the “good question” each week. Calgary could become known as the “City of Good Questions.” Einstein said that he had no special talent, only a ceaseless curiosity. Try it. It might vastly enrich your life experience. I’ve come up with five good questions for Wednesday, including one you have already seen and one (the fifth) that I learned from someone else. Please pick one of the five questions that interests you and share with us your wisdom and your experience. Then come up with at least one good question of your own.
1. If there were one lesson you wish you had learned early in life, perhaps something you feel you’d like to do “life coaching” on with teenagers, what would that lesson be?
2. Helen Ostrowski will tell us about her trans-Canada hiking trail milestones-to-peace project. If you were planning a very creative social event that takes Helen’s project as its theme, what would that social event be? Describe what the participants would experience in this social event that you would organize (perhaps in collaboration with Helen).
3. Helen Keller wrote in detail about the five senses. Please share with us a memory you have for each of those senses. What is an unforgettable olfactory memory in your experience? What is a remarkable memory you have based on your sense of touch or proprioception? What is a remarkable memory from your gustatory experience (your sense of taste)? What is an unforgettable memory from the things you have seen? And what memory would you share from your hearing, perhaps your favorite auditory memory?
4. How do you experience the work you are currently doing? Is it a job? A career? Is it a calling? Please elaborate.
5. Is there life before death?
